Isn’t It Interesting…

That the libs don’t seem to miss the NSA “domestic spying” ordeal while they focus on trying to prove Cheney tried to murder Whittington?

Some folks have been watching too much CSI.

  1. Howard Says:

The VP thing is a classic Washington story, you have to admit. He brought this on himself by the way he handled things. I think it’s much ado about nothing, but it plays to the VP’s well-earned reputation for secrecy.

I’ve heard from a few news sources that this episode may open the door for the president to ask Cheney to step down so that Bush’s favored heir apparent can finish the second term and have a head-start for the 2008 nomination. What do you think of that scenario?

  2. The VP thing is actually a classic smear job by a jealous liberal media and a bunch of kooks on the web dictating their instructions to the DNC.

As for your second point, I’ve heard that too, but I doubt it.

Jeez, Rob, you really have it in for the DNC and, to use your phrase, “jealous liberal media” types. Keep it up and you’ll give yourself a heart attack. Or lots of gray hair.

I mean, c’mon, VP Cheney walked right into this one. You or I could have given him basic strategic counsel on avoiding what happened. It doesn’t require a PhD to understand that the way to stay in front of a story like this one is to GET in front, address the issue head on. The best defense is a good offense, blah, blah, blah.

With a 24/7 news cycle, SOMETHING has to fill all that airtime, and boy did the VP hand the media a good one. I don’t care for the VP one bit, but on this matter I certainly can sympathize. It must have been scary as hell to shoot a friend and see him fall.

I doubt the VP will resign, too. It’s not his style.

  4. With all due respect, Bullshit.

With a 24/7 news cycle, SOMETHING has to fill all that airtime,

They had a fucking week. They blew off every other worthy news story because David Gregory and the WH press corps wasn’t handed the story on a silver platter, they went apeshit spicy Gonzo (as a friend of mine used to say).

There’s no tap dancing around the fact that the words and deeds of the liberals and their willing accomplices in Big Media, this past week, was faaaaarrrr more absurd than anything Cheney did last weekend. All the way from the insinuations that he was cheating all the way down to the open salivation that Whittington would die.

And you may quote me on that.
